I’m using some 4 ply mercerised cottons: purple, bordeaux (red), white, silver & blue, to make a crochet hexagon throw.

They start with 4 colours & 5 rows.

Then, after i’ve made a few of them…

I (crochet) join them together as I go. No waiting ‘till the end to join all those pieces!
Like my previous, Hexagon Afghan Throw, this is a variation of the same, but with much smaller hexagons. However, i’m still inspired by the 1970s. It wasn’t my plan, but the colours seem to work that way.
What other colours do you think resemble the 1970s?

This guy is a very dear friend of mine, & i’m proud he’s reached so far with his work. I’ll be there for his private view, bigging up his work & name to everybody & anybody who is in my eye line!
Stewart is an illustrator, & some years ago, got into handmade crafting. All of his quilts, throws & cushions, are made by hand, & I mean, NO sewing machine!
I have many of his hand illustrated cards and paisntings and for my 41st birthday, he gave me a hand sewn picnic throw, which lays lovingly on my living room floor, & NO ONE is allowed to walk on! I think it was his first one, and now he has a fabulous collection of these, which seem to take on a life of their own, with great themes, embellishments and superb, quality fabrics. Stewart is also available for commissions.
